About Platforma Kultury
The CULTURE PLATFORM - www.platformakultury.pl - is a compendium of knowledge about the culture sector. The site is envisaged as an updated data base on programs run by the National Centre for Culture (NCK) and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN), partner initiatives, networks of local partners, activities of individual cultural institutions, etc. Its overriding objective is to collect information from the world of culture, e.g. concerning ongoing education and culture programs, mechanisms of culture management (funds, institutions, online resources, publications) and cultural events from all over Poland.
THE CULTURE PLATFORM includes:
- Projects – introduction of interesting and exemplary projects from across the country, indicating ways of applying cultural activities to integrate communities.
- Programmes, Publications, Training and Research– a set of major publications, online resources and institutions that provide information on how to act and where to look for resources and inspiration.
- Notice Board – discussion forum and a bulletin board. A platform for exchanging best practices, asking for advice, finding partners.
- Calendar – a base of current cultural events from all over Poland.
- Newsletter – a regular online bulletin sent directly to enlisted subscribers; a summary of current news posted on the website.
The Culture Platform is meant to:
- introduce and promote cultural projects and activities across Poland, including projects implemented and part-financed by the National Centre of Culture and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage;
- create a comprehensive data base concerning culture education and mechanisms of culture management;
- assist and provide inspiration in the creation of projects that involve local communities;
- integrate the culture-related community through active participation in the creation of the website content.
We welcome cooperation of all practitioners and theoreticians of culture, institutions providing grants as well as local initiatives and organisations. We count on your assistance in:
- adding content to the various sections
- notifying the editors about interesting culture events
- mutual hyper-linking and online promotion
- sharing experience of project implementation
- The Platform of Culture is based on cooperation and creation of an efficient network of contacts and opportunities.
An idea of the Culture Platform was conceived during the 2008 Congress of Culture Education. A website www.edukultura.pl was launched in 2009. The Culture Platform was part-financed within the framework of Education Plus, a pilot program of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The website www.platformakultury.pl is managed and coordinated by the National Centre for Culture.
